There are countless people that track the crude oil price per
barrel. Not only do oil investors keep track of the prices but average
people do as well because it affects the price they pay per gallon of
gas.
With ever rising gas prices people are more and more conscious of
what they are spending. They are also actively working on ways to save
money on gas. It can be a huge cost, especially if you drive a larger
vehicle and have to commute to and from work each day. The crude price
per barrel effects how much oil companies pay for a barrel of oil and
then essentially the price of gas for the American. Thankfully, there
are many things you can do in order to ensure you are getting the
maximum gas mileage out of your vehicle.
Proper maintenance plays a huge role in how your car functions and
this also rings true for how your car burns gas. Older vehicles tend
to be less energy efficient than newer models because the auto
industry is consistently improving vehicles to make them more
reliable, more energy efficient and less costly for the
consumer. However, no matter how old or new your car is you should get
it maintenance regularly in order for it to run well. This means the
oil should be changed every three months or three thousand miles, all
of the fluids should be filled regularly and the air pressure should
be checked in the tires on a regular basis.
In addition to these things, how you drive also affects the amount
of gas you use. Running the air conditioning in the car can waste a
lot of gas if you are driving around any normal city streets. However,
when you are cruising the highway, you'll get more gas mileage if
you roll up the windows and turn the air conditioner on. The way you
stop and excel can make a huge difference as well. Instead of coming
to an abrupt halt and then laying on the gas when you start again, you
should glide to a stop and slowly regain you speed. This way you are
not burning a lot of gas each time you stop at a red light. If you are
aware of how you drive and track how much gas mileage you get, you
will be able to see the difference in the amount of gas you are saving
when you make some of these small changes.
